Highlights of 2008 FIP AGM

New Member Countries: At its Annual General Meeting (AGM), FIP Delegates approved the membership of four new member countries bringing total membership in FIP to 25 countries and 26 member associations worldwide. President Robert Chelin warmly welcomed the new members during FIP AGM in Rome on 10 May 2008. Chelin expressed his personal enthusiasm when he stated that "FIP continues to grow and thrive and now reaches to all corners of the planet to represent podiatric medicine."

New General Treasurer Elected: After many years of extraordinary and faithful service, Philippe Laurent has stepped down as General Treasurer. The FIP family is profoundly thankful for his years of proficient service. Following him as General Treasurer is Diamanto Maliotou, President of the Cyprus Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists. Following her election, Chelin indicated that he was delighted to have Ms. Maliotou as a member of the Executive Board and wishes her every success.
