Academy Takes Decision Actions in Amsterdam
On 28 July 2009 in Toronto, Canada, Delegates to the Annual General Meeting of the Fédération Internationale des Podologues (FIP) established an International Academy of Podiatric Medical Educators appointing educators from 6 continents to the Academy’s Governing Council.
“The primary purpose of the Academy,” according to Dr. Chet Evans, Academy President, “is the enhancement of podiatric medical education worldwide. “The Academy will do all it can to strengthen podiatric education whether in countries with a large number of podiatrists or in those with smaller numbers,” he stated. Evans went on to say that “…through its members, the Academy will stimulate growth in podiatric programs while strengthening the teaching skills of faculty worldwide. “
Podiatric educators attended the XX World Congress of Podiatry held on May 14, 2010 in Amsterdam. At this Congress, the Academy of Podiatric Medical Educators was launched.
